They do what on the table?

Table For Deuce (t4d) is the brainchild of poets Kate Hanson Foster and Michael Schmeltzer. It began as a simple poetry podcast: they reviewed poems, discussed the literary community, and mocked bags of dirt. but much like the little mermaid, they wanted more.

review-centered & humor-forward, t4d is not only evolving as a podcast but aims to establish itself as a publishing platform for poetry and creative reviews alike.

Review-centered & Humor-forward, table for deuce is a poetry podcast and publishing platform whose aim is to highlight poetry and create honest, thoughtful, and dynamic engagement around art.

Toast or roast

One of the main features of t4d is the toast or roast segment . Think of it as Siskel & Ebert meet Randall Jarrell. It goes like this: Kate or Michael (and sometimes their guest!) read a poem they find in the literary wilds. they discuss, debate and interrogate. at the end of the segment they each decide whether to toast or roast it.

Why roast at all?

T4D may not take ourselves seriously, but we take craft and the art of reviews very seriously. We hold a sincere respect for writers and the work they create. Our commitment to thoughtful and honest engagement with these works stems from this deep respect. We believe through reviews, whether glowing or glowering, humorous or wholehearted, we can contribute to the appreciation of art in all its forms while creating a stronger community through dynamic dialogues.
